TRICK #1: Fake it till You Make It

This strategy is effective for two reasons -

  • It helps entrepreneurs to secure investors who are more likely to be interested in the brand;

  • It helps customers to be more curious and trusting of your brand;

How Our brain Works?

Counterfactual Simulation as applied imagination—you’re consciously posing a “what if” or “what would happen if” question to your mind, then sitting back and letting your brain do what it does best.

Based on the Patterns, Associations, and Interpretations you have stored in memory, your brain will produce what it believes to be the most likely result. All you have to do is suspend disbelief, pose the question, and wait for the answer.

Self belief is one of the most powerful if not the most powerful trick you have to learn if you want to succeed in life.

What if I can do it, or even better what if I have already done it?

Tell yourself the story which will lead you to your goal and see the entire process.

The transformation which you will experience through your struggle to achieve your goal is visual and you can see the story already inside your mind before even happening it in reality.

Athletes do it, actors do it, you can do it too.

Fake it inside your mind and You will make it for real.

TRICK #2: Give first Ask Second

Provide free of charge high value content, products or services to your customers. Get your customers excited about your brand and they will come back for more.

Communicate their problems, pains, fears desires, wants and needs through stories in which your brand helps them transform their lives for better. Show them the transformation - at the end of the day this is what everyone strive for.

Educate, Entertain and Provide Care.

TRICK #3: Build a Tribe

In an attention economy , marketers struggle for attention. If you don’t have it, you lose.

Because one of our deepest and most powerful urges is the gaining of ever more status, our tribal stories tell us how to earn it. A human tribe can be viewed as a status game that all its members are playing, its rules being recorded in its stories.

Every human group that has a shared purpose is held together by such stories. A nation has a story it tells about itself, in which its values are encoded, as does a corporation and a religion and a mafia organisation and a political ideology and a cult. The Bible, The Qur’an and the Torah that Ezra presented to his people in Jerusalem are ready-made theories of control that are internalised by their followers, instructing them how to behave in order to achieve connection and status.

TRICK #4: Create Scarcity

Creating an air of exclusivity or putting something just out of reach is a great growth hack that can help drawn in more customers and build the intrigue of your leads and visitors.

Story is metaphor for life, and to be alive is to be in seemingly perpetual conflict. As Jean-Paul Sartre expressed it, the essence of reality is scarcity, a universal and eternal lacking. There isn't enough of anything in this world to go around.

Not enough food, not enough love, not enough justice, and never enough time. Time, as Heidegger observed, is the basic category of existence. We live in its ever-shrinking shadow, and if we are to achieve anything in our brief being that lets us die without feeling we've wasted our time, we will have to go into heady conflict with the forces of scarcity that deny our desires.

TRICK #5: Create a Relationship

Successful business storytelling begins with being aware that telling a story brings us into a relationship with another person.

Have you ever been in the company of someone who tells you story after story to convince you of their opinions, or even worse, trying to sell you whatever they have for selling without even trying to engage you in a conversation?

To engage others, we have to develop the so-called ‘soft’ skills of listening, reflecting and responding and use them actively in a variety of contexts.

TRICK #6: Customer first

To engage your audience in the story you are telling, first make sure you know their story. Know what matters to them, what motivates them, what their struggles are, etc.

Real connection happens only after you have created common ground between you and your customers. And you do that be being aware of their story first, then you know the purpose of your story.

TRICK #7: Your Customer is The Hero

ORDINARY LIVES MAKE COMPELLING STORIES

Successful business storytelling knows how to transform ordinary events into extraordinary moments.

If you’ve been following the storytelling trend, then you probably believe you have to tell a ‘big’ story about a ‘big’ person that carries a ‘big’ message. In our search for the ‘biggies’, we have overlooked all other stories that fall outside this category.

If we want our stories to engage, inspire and influence, we have to tell them so that they become a personal experience for the other: they ‘feel’ the story so strongly they make it their own and

share it with others. To personalise your storytelling, start by removing everything that de-personalises it! Drop the buzz-words that are emptied of any personal meaning, such as “super excited”, “awesome”, “crush”, etc.

Conclusion

When you give yourself the freedom to think outside the box and use creative business storytelling it will not only spark new ideas but it will also help you to grow your brand and your business.

After all, in business you need to take that leap of faith in order to move from one step to the next.

Summit, reaching your desired goal. Success!

Thank You!
